are u using broadband connection ?

anyways you try this

option 1 :

goto internet explorer – > Tools – > internet options – > Connection(Tab)

in connection tab you’ll find , LAN Settings button , click it ,

it will open LAN setting window – > check the automatically detect setting option -> click ok -> you are done

option 2 : provide the valid IP Address and Port Number

If you are using a distributed IP address or Secured Internet connection , you need to give Proper IP address in order to connect to the internet .

I have this 3-in-1 printer, scanner and copier, I know how to use it on an “normal” computer; one on which it is possible to install the CD that comes along with the 3-in-1, but that is not possible on my mini-laptop :( Does anyone know if it is possible to scan photos on to this computer and if it is, how can I do this? :) Thanks for your help!

*My laptop is an 10″ HP with Windows 7*

Download the software from the printer manufacturer’s website and install it.
You cannot scan with no software installed

When my battery is fully charged on my laptop (Win XP) the battery meter showed nearly 6 hours of life left. Usually I get somewhere around 2.5 hours of use. I’m wondering if there is a way to sync up the battery meter with the actual battery power left. Like measure the amount of time it takes to run it down or something and have the meter recognize that… I dunno. Help!

Charging the laptop fully and then letting it drain almost completely every so often will serve to calibrate the chip in your battery. However the meter itself can still only give you a very rough estimate, as the amount of power your laptop draws fluctuates over time (for instance it’ll draw considerably more while the processor is at full load, or whenever the hard drive spins up).

I am entering graduate school in a medical field. It is necessary that we have a laptop and I am looking into getting a Tablet laptop for the ease of use. I need it for things like papers, power point, internet, etc… I doubt I will need it for any multimedia uses. I want it to be fast with lots of memory. Does anyone have any suggestions? BTW price is probably not an issue since it is a graduation gift.

fast, with lots of memory. They are not cheap, however. The
starting price is around $ 2000.00. They are very thin and light, and

I’ve bought a secondhand laptop today and it still has some of the internet history and programs of its last user. Should I erase the har drive, if so, how? What if the person before me used it for illegal material with its IP adress everywhere?

My point is, after buying a laptop or computer, is there anything one should do or be aware of?

your ip depends on your internet provider so dont worry.I would erase and start from scratch anyway to make sure there are no hidden files and viruses.

I am looking into a new laptop to play video games on while im in college, the laptop has to last a minimum of 2 years. These are the specs/prices of 2 laptops i have viewed but I have a few short questions before i dive into them.

Which would be better for a cpu, a faster dual core, or a slower quad core and why?
Would anyone know which brand has the best usage life based on actual statistics?

stay away from Alienware you pay to much for a name
and if you want it to last 2 years stay with something around $ 700 a year x 2 is 1400for a computer

Yes, it’s entirely possible, though I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re comfortable taking apart your laptop and rewiring it a bit. As for the parts, you might be able to find some on newegg.com
